Sutton Coldfield’s Indian street food sensation, Bhaijaans, has secured a place in the finals of the prestigious Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards, it has been announced.
The esteemed national awards, which celebrate the importance and popularity of South Asian cuisine in the UK, have recognised the restaurant’s quality of dishes, rating it on taste, authenticity, presentation and culinary skills, as well as its high health and safety standards.
After taking on some of the best Asian restaurants and eateries throughout the Midlands at a cook-off competition in July, the team will join fellow finalists at a sparkling ceremony in the capital this weekend on Sunday 30 September, where the winner will be revealed.
The achievement comes as Bhaijaans prepares to celebrate its first birthday in the Royal Town next month, having joined the likes of Eleon, Brewhouse & Kitchen, and Ask Italian in Sutton Coldfield Town Centre last year.
Mike Bushell, Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID Manager, said:
“We are delighted to share the fantastic news that Bhaijaans has secured a place in the finals of the prestigious ARTA Awards. The restaurant is a fantastic addition to the town centre’s foodie offering and has gone from strength to strength since opening its doors a year ago. Renowned within the local community for its tasty, traditional South Asian street food, we are thrilled that this has been recognised on a national scale.
“We wish the team the very best of luck at the ceremony this weekend, and look forward to celebrating their first birthday with them next month,” he added.
Chef Rahman from Bhaijaans, said
“We are delighted to have secured a place in the finals – the competition was tough and we competed against some of best chefs throughout the country. We’re very much looking forward to attending the ceremony this weekend.”
